Longaberger Cake Basket Delight--Delicious and Serves Several!
Cake Basket Delight is a rich chocolate dessert layered in a Longaberger Cake Basket plastic Protector that is then placed in a Cake Basket for serving. Delicious and a beautiful presentation!
1 German Chocolate Cake Mix (bake according to package directions in a Longaberger 9" x 13" Baking Dish, let cool)
2 5.25 oz boxes Instant Chocolate Pudding (mix separately according to package, let set up)
2 16 oz cartons Cool Whip
1 12 oz bag Butter Brickle (found in store with chocolate chips; I could only find 8 oz bag and that was enough)
When cake is cooled, cut in half and crumble one half into Longaberger Cake Basket Protector. Top with one bowl pudding, 1/2 bag brickle, and one carton thawed Cool Whip. Repeat layers again. Save a little brickle to sprinkle over top. It's easy to stretch plastic wrap over the top and store the dessert-filled protector in the refrigerator until time to serve, then remove the plastic and drop the cake-filled protector into the basket.
I'm not sure who created and generously shared this recipe, but I appreciate her! I have enjoyed serving it at many events. It always receives comments and compliments.
Of course, the most fun problem you have is choosing which Longaberger Cake Basket to carry and serve your dessert in. Most Longaberger fans will have a few Cake Baskets. This beloved stack of Cake Baskets includes a Multi-Color Cake, a Crimson Hills Cake, and a Santa Belly Cake . . . one for any season! Of course, I also have a JW Cake, a Crisco Cake, and a few others. It's a useful basket, much beyond holding desserts. Everyone should have at least one.
