Bubble-Up Pizza Casserole--yummy!

Here’s another tasty recipe for your Longaberger Flameware:  Bubble-Up Pizza Casserole.  You’ll love the convenience of browning the hamburger, adding the other components and baking, and then attractively serving all in the same piece.

1 pound 96% lean ground beef (or turkey)               garlic salt to taste
2 tsp      onion powder                                                  Grated onions--optional
16 oz     tomato sauce                                                  15 oz refrigerated biscuits
½ tsp      dried basil                                                         1 ¼ cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 tsp      Italian seasoning

Preheat oven to 350 F.  Brown meat in Flameware Skillet or Braiser over medium heat, stirring to crumble.  Stir in onion powder, tomato sauce, basil, garlic, onions, and Italian seasoning.  Mix well.

Add quartered (raw) biscuits; stir gently until all biscuit pieces are covered with sauce.  Bake for 25 minutes.  Remove from oven and sprinkle with cheese.  Continue baking an additional 10 minutes until biscuits are browned and cheese is melted.  Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

This recipe came from the Fall 2012 MSTA School and Community’s “Back-to-School Recipes” and was originally baked in a 9 x 13” dish—but why not do it all in one piece of Longaberger Flameware?

At our Longaberger Sweetheart Branch Meeting last Saturday, we made and enjoyed eating this casserole together.  A Longaberger Branch is a group of consultants related in some way.  I’m a Branch Manager, and my group is made up of those I have sponsored and their own recruits.  It’s a wonderful social group—we’re all good friends and enjoy getting together each month and at Longaberger meetings such as the Bee, our company convention.  Having your own special, fun group of Longaberger friends is another reason to become a consultant!
