A Christmas Tree Tribute to Longaberger Weavers

My office Christmas tree this year pays tribute to Longaberger's weavers, past and present.  Weaver tags that come with Longaberger Baskets have been placed on the branches (no time to add ribbon hangers yet!), and they make me smile every time I see them. The ornaments on the tree are retired Longaberger pewter ornaments that commemorate past Christmas Collection Baskets, snowflakes, and the Santa, Snowman, and Angel cookie mold series.

Longaberger's basket weavers are a special group of artists.  They still initial and date the baskets when finished, just as they traditionally have, but now the baskets also come to you with a weaver tag with a photo of the weaver and a comment from her or him.  On back, there is a code you can scan with your phone to watch a short video about the weaving process.  Many weavers don't enjoy the limelight and add those cards reluctantly, not realizing how much we like to put a face with those initials.

Merry Christmas, Longaberger weavers.  We appreciate you!
