Assemble these sandwiches ahead of time, as shown in the top photo, and then before baking, pour on the poppy-seed concoction. I prefer to bake a longer time at a lower temperature than listed in the recipe below.
2 pkg Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
1 lb honey ham
1 lb turkey
1 lb Swiss cheese
1 lb Provolone cheese
1 T honey mustard
1 T poppy seeds
1 stick butter
4 T sugar
2 T onion flakes
Place the two packages of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls side-by-side on the Handled Platter. Cut rolls horizontally, trying not to split into separate rolls, and lay back the tops. Layer meats and cheeses on the bottom and replace the roll tops. Mix and melt together remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Cool, then spread on top of rolls. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes (I'd suggest 350 for 20-30 minutes).
You'll want to cut these sandwiches apart using a large knife before serving. The Longaberger Platter will keep them warm a long while. These are wonderful and you won't have any left, but I hear they are good cold too.
Longaberger's Handled Platter is the same size as the retired one I used above and has the additional benefit of rectangular handles cut into the wide band around the platter. Head to my website right away to order your own platter in one of several vibrant colors!
